Total shock reading tweets from a young lady about Zendaya wearing a 4c texture wig for her birthday photoshoot.
"Our genetics aren't a fashion statement because we don't choose them, they're given. Do Better" said Jackson on her twitter. Some times reading comments like this I wonder if its a real account. Are people actually thinking this way? Why is it a problem to have 4c hair a fashion statement? Straight hair is a fashion statement and it is definitely NOT in our genes. So, I'm very confused on what made her think this was a problem. First and foremost Zendaya is a black woman. 4c hair is not just a single trait to black young women who has a black mother and black father. Woman of all color who have curly or coily hair ALL wear their hair straight at times and also pull out their favorite straight wig every now and then. So why cant our hair type be desired like straight hair is desired? Zendaya definitely represented us in a very good way! Very good light to push natural hair texture into the media front! "Plus its just hair" said Da Real 1 on her tweet replying to more negative uneducated tweets. What this says to me that these young ladies are really unhappy with their own image. Wigs come in every texture, color and lengths. I find that some people are just looking for negativity every were. Zendaya's homage to 4c hair that she finds beautiful is amazingly awesome!! She is a products of her ancestress before her. Does she not get a chance to do the things that are in her blood, to desire to look the way her family has looked forever? What kind of community we live in that allows its own people to wear straight and blonde hair and relax their hair but as soon as someone does the same to mimic our BEAUTIFUL thick and gorgeous hair they can not. Isn't this the goal? To see our hair more and see it be desired? Zendaya used a very special day where she could have easily straightened her curly hair but she didn't! This young woman is beautiful inside and out! She is known to make sure her heritage is shown in everything she does. I applaud her! I am rooting for her career and mental state! I pray she stays strong! I pray she keep up the great work and continue to put US BLACK GIRLS on a pedistool. I challenge you all to Uplift each other no matter of shade of black you are! Support each other!
